Support from local businesses
We’ve had some fabulous support from local businesses over the festive period.
Staff from Shacklocks, the solicitors and investment advisors, pulled together to donate 8 boxes of Christmas goodies which were shared out amongst the people living in our supported housing. They also gave some materials to be used at Growing Lives. This is the fourth year Shacklocks have supported us at Christmas.
The Derby branch of Dunelm kindly donated a range of household items including a dinner set, bedding and towels. They were all given to a supported housing resident who had been anxious about moving to a new home without the essentials. He’s now set up for a good start to the year.
The Scrapstore, a community resource centre in Swindon, have also made a difference by donating carpet and paint. These are being used by Faiza who is moving on from Derventio into a home of her own.
Millie’s Cookies (part of SSP UK) at Derby Train Station donated a large amount of surplus food from the café, which meant that people were able to enjoy some treats over the festive period.
A huge thank you to all the companies and individuals who have supported us this Christmas and given people a good start for 2021.
