About Derventio Housing Trust

About Derventio Housing Trust

Derventio Housing Trust supports people who have recent experience of homelessness. Our aim is for everyone to lead healthy and happy lives in a safe, secure place that they can call home.

Homeless people are some of the most disadvantaged, marginalised and excluded people in society. We are committed to doing all we can to end the cycle of homelessness for as many individuals as possible.

We are also passionate about preventing homelessness in the first place. Increasing numbers of people are at risk of becoming homeless as a result of today’s economic climate, which has placed added stresses and strains to families and lifestyles.

What we do

Supporting people who are homeless to change and improve their lives is at the heart of what we do. Our support can range from pre-tenancy training, to emotional support, to assistance to gain access to other services.

We provide stable accommodation, and encourage our clients to think about their health, wellbeing and future.

We also offer further opportunities and chances to improve life skills and inspire people to make safer and healthier lifestyle choices.

We work closely with property owners, Local Authorities and a range of other agencies.

How we are organised

Derventio Housing Trust is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company and a registered provider of social housing, regulated by the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA). We are governed by our board members and have a committed team of staff and volunteers.

We are also a social enterprise, which means that all of our profits are reinvested for good.

We regularly fundraise and raise awareness of homelessness in our community.
