💬 Time to Talk Day – 5th February 💬

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. It’s all about talking, listening, and changing lives.

Opening up and having honest conversations can be the first step to better mental health, reduce stigma, and help people feel comfortable seeking support.

How to support someone else:
• Ask how they’re feeling and listen to them. 👂
• Show warmth with positive body language to show your support to them. 🤝
• Be patient – they may not be ready to open up, and that’s okay.

How to support your own mental health:
• Choose the right time and place to talk whether that be by face-to-face or by call 📞
• Sharing your feelings can feel uncomfortable, but it helps others understand and support you 💛

Let’s make talking about mental health normal and support each other. 💙

We are thrilled to celebrate Joe, a Senior Training Mentor at Derventio Housing Trust, for receiving the Recognition for Contribution to Promoting Dignity award from the Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Adults Board (DSAB

Joe is a true champion of dignity, consistently demonstrating respect, empathy, and integrity in all he does. From listening carefully to residents’ needs to leading projects like sexual health awareness, mentoring colleagues, and standardising safeguarding practices, he goes above and beyond to ensure respectful, high-quality support across our services.

Joe’s commitment to ethical working, safeguarding, and treating people with compassion makes him highly respected by both residents and colleagues.

We couldn’t be prouder to have such an outstanding dignity champion on our team! 💙

Here is a selection of pictures from the Dignity Day award ceremony held at Derby’s Council House.
