People at Growing Lives took part in Big Butterfly Count this summer, spotting species like Large Whites and Red Admirals in our beautiful garden at Growing Lives. A great way to enjoy nature, practise mindfulness, and connect with the outdoors! 🌿 #BigButterflyCount #MindfulMoments #GrowingLives😊☀️ 🦋

It’s great to receive positive feedback about our staff, especially from residents and the people who are closest to them.

Below is a message from a resident’s mum whose son is on Derventio's Healthy Futures project - where she shares the positive impact staff member Paul has had.

“Paul I just wanted to say that from the start your involvement has been so valuable. From a parent’s perspective I think you go above and beyond in your role. You’re very understanding and have a strengths based, positive and forward looking outlook which really encourages both the family and the person you are working with. You work systemically with the multiple systems around the person and this is absolutely necessary in my view. I sometimes think that services don’t realise how much you are needed out of hours, on the Friday and weekends which seem to be quite a critical time in the lives of some. It’s these times during these out of hours, on call, moments when I think you have been a God send. I think your sense of humour is great and this helps to form strong alliances with those you work with. Just wanted to give you some positive feedback because I know how much it means to me as a professional when I receive these things and I think your company should know what an asset you are to them. Keep up the good work and please look after yourself because you’re special kind of person.
Take care”,

Healthy Futures gives tailored support to people who have been discharged from hospital and have no accommodation in place on their discharge from hospital.

Fantastic feedback Paul! Your positive impact doesn’t go unnoticed. 😊👍

A big thanks to the staff at Guy’s Cliffe Walled Garden who invited a group of residents from the Warwick area along with Penny Wiltshire our Warwick area manager.

The visit gave a massive inspiration and interest to the residents to become green fingered by asking many questions and taking up gardening themselves following on from the visit.

Martin who attended the visit said, “gardening was hugely beneficial for his mental health” and “ I love it” “Its lovely to see something grow from seeds”.

Penny shared that the gardening has enabled residents to bond with their children again and that she had received pictures of participants Sunday dinners showing the vegetables they had grown in the pictures which is fantastic.

Thanks again to everyone at Guy’s Cliffe Walled Garden in Warwick and especially Lorraine for carrying out the visit.
