Amazing community support brings smiles to people living in supported housing
This Easter, local individuals, businesses and schoolchildren came together to spread joy, kindness – and a little extra chocolate – to people who need it most.
Thanks to generous donations from supporters, local companies Blue Arrow and NFU Mutual, and the incredible pupils at Norbury C of E Primary School, we were able to deliver dozens of Easter eggs to people living in Derventio’s supported housing.
The pupils at Norbury showed exceptional kindness and teamwork, with all 73 children pulling together to donate an amazing 95 Easter eggs.
Long-time supporters Blue Arrow once again chose to share Easter cheer with us – something they’ve done for the past eight years as part of their commitment to helping good causes across Derby. Meanwhile, staff at NFU Mutual went above and beyond, donating not only chocolate eggs but a selection of luxury treats for residents living in Derventio’s housing in Warwick.
These thoughtful gifts were shared with residents across our housing services – and were met with big smiles and heartfelt appreciation.
For the people we support, life can come with significant challenges. Simple acts of kindness like this do more than brighten someone’s day; they remind people that they are seen, valued and not alone.
We’re so grateful to everyone who helped bring a little Easter magic to our community. Thank you for making a difference!
