How We Help

A happy resident sitting on the sofaPeople with experience of homelessness often struggle to fit into society. They may lack the skills needed to maintain a tenancy, or they could have other problems which can make it hard to adjust to living somewhere new.

We treat every person as an individual. The support we give can include anything, from:

  • Helping people to deal with deep-rooted problems like drug or alcohol misuse or mental health issues
  • Accompanying people to GP and health appointments
  • Support to make contact with family and friends
  • Practical guidance on living independently
  • Informal advice on healthy eating and safety in the home

Some of our support is tailored to specific needs. SmartShare for Care Leavers is specially designed for people with higher support needs. We provide intensive support and housing management to help people with their underlying problems and encourage them to improve their skills.

Everyone who uses our services is different. That is why we offer different levels of support within all of our housing services.

Personal Transitions Service

The Personal Transitions service offers personalised coaching for people going through the toughest of life transitions such as experiencing homelessness, leaving care or coming out of prison.

Inspirational Asset Coaches work with people so that they transition out of their situations quickly and sustainably with a whole new community of support built around them.

What we offer

  • Highly personalised and strength-based coaching
  • Bespoke connection to specialist support and advice on housing, health, finance, employment and any things they feel will help them get to where they want to be.
  • Local community links so people can build positive networks independent of support services
  • Personalised opportunities that build on people's interests - for example, football clubs, music studios, model cars.
  • Personal budgets to build on people's skills and aspirations.

We meet wherever people want, never in an office, and we are not afraid to have real world conversations.

Who we work with

We work with individuals aged 16 and over who are going through tough transitions and are either experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness due to life events, such as coming out of prison, leaving care or psychiatric hospital.

We aim to be as flexible and open as possible, so please contact us if you would like to discuss a referral.
