Derventio bags 1,000 from Tesco's community grant scheme

Derventio Housing Trust is delighted to announce that we have bagged £1,000 from Tesco's Bags of Help community grant scheme.

Bags of Help is run in partnership with environmental charity Groundwork, and sees grants raised from the sale of carrier bags awarded to thousands of local community projects every year. Since launching in 2015, it's provided more than £63 million to over 20,000 local community projects.

Millions of shoppers have voted in Tesco stores up and down the country and it can now be revealed that Derventio Housing Trust has won £1,000.

Work will now begin on bringing the project to life.

It will go towards the Ilkeston-based Growing Lives project, which offers a range of skill-building activities including gardening, cookery and arts with support to reduce social isolation and improve confidence, health and wellbeing. The grant will buy essential materials for participants to use in these activities, such as baking trays and paints.

A huge thank you to everyone who voted in your local store!
